1 - What's this site all about?

The idea is simple: to try and make $10,000 (US) by selling 1,000,000 pixels for 1 penny each. If you do the math, 1,000,000 x .01 = 10,000, or $10,000 bucks. My motivation for doing this is to get myself out of the hole I'm in, get back on top of things and give you something in return for your support. I could try to go for more money, but I figure $10,000 is plenty to help me get ahead in life.

Everyone is welcome to support my efforts by purchasing 100 pixel blocks (each measuring 10 x 10 pixels). You will notice a grid pattern on the home page which consists of 10,000 of these 100 pixel blocks. 2 - Who are you?

My name is James and and reside in the "wonderful" town of Branson, Missouri. I have been a web designer/programmer for around 10 years but am still feeling the economic effects of the dot com bomb era. With a little help, I can pay off some tax debts and get on top of my life again instead of living in a van down by the river!

3 - Is this for real?

Yes it is! Although this site might seem a bit crazy, I think it actually provides a win-win situation for pixel buyers and me. When you purchase pixels, you are helping me get a boost and get on top of things. In return, this site gives you clicks to your site. Considering the high probability of the media promoting this site, your site could get a lot of clicks - or the biggest bang for your buck.

4 - How did you come up with this idea?

This site was inspired by Alex Tew's very creative "Million Dollar Homepage". I thought it might be amusing to create a spoof of his site - and provide a service for those who might not be able to afford higher priced pixels.

5 - Why do you need 1 million pennies?

Like I mentioned earlier, if you do the math, 1 million pennies translates to $10,000 in US dollars. Now, $10,000 isn't a ton of money, but for me and my situation, it would help me out a lot. I could once and for all pay off my tax and other debts, go on a long overdue vacation, get a new computer, some new clothes and perhaps have enough left over to buy an iPod. Also, it wouldn't hurt to go to the doctor and dentist for a checkup. It has been years since I have been since I don't have health insurance. Is my story sad enough yet?
